Leeds led 2-0 at the interval after goals from Michael Bridges and Matthew Jones. They made three changes for the second half with Naisbett replacing Paul Robinson in goal, Gareth Evans coming on at Left Back for David Robertson and Warren Feeney replacing Michael Bridges at Inside Right. Derek Lilley and Warren Feeney added two more second half goals and Paul Shepherd replaced Alf-Inge Haaland at Right Half after sixty-one minutes and Damian Lynch came on for Derek Lilley nine minutes later.
